| ADIL & ADIJ Protocol: the Legal aspects of the e-commerce (May 12th, 2004)
Under the patronage of h.e. minister of justice, Dr. Bahige Tabbarah, and for the signature of a cooperation agreement between ADIL (Association pour le developpement du droit et de l’informatique au Liban) & ADIJ (Association pour le developpement de l’informatique juridique en France). And in the collaboration with the Lawyers’ Bar of Beirut & the Professional Computer Association (PCA), ADIL & ADIJ had the pleasure of organizing a one-day seminar having for main subject: “The Legal Aspects of the E-Commerce”, on Wednesday May 12th, 2004 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM at the amphitheatre of the Bar of Beirut.
Many French and Lebanese experts attended this event in order to discuss the legal & organizational aspect of the e-commerce enlightened by both French & Lebanese legislations. They also put the light on the project being under implementation by the ministry of economy & commerce along with the European Union, having for purpose to set a whole legal & organizational procedure to the e-commerce in Lebanon.
The seminar has been opened with speeches by: Dr. Toni Issa, President of ADIL; Mr. Pascal Peticollot, Vice-President of ADIJ; Mr. Pierre Catala, Professor at the university of Pantheon-Assas (Paris2); Mr. Jalal Fawaz, President of the PCA; Me. Salim Osta, President of the Bar of Beirut; and h.e. Dr. Bahige Tabbarah, Minister of Justice. The seminar included discussions and presentations of many related subjects, two main of those were “the protection of the intellectual property over the internet” and “the protection of the personal rights over the internet”.
