Lunch of honor to H.E. Ambassador Vincent Battle.

The Professional Computer Association organized on July 19th 2004, a lunch thanking H.E. Mr. Vincent Battle, Ambassador of the United States of America, in Diwan Al Sultan Ibrahim - Ashrafieh, for his continuous efforts and support to the ICT sector in Lebanon.

During this lunch of honor, attended by all PCA members, Mr. Jalal Fawaz, President of PCA, granted H.E. the Ambassador Battle with a memorial gift.

First Spoke Mr. Fawaz, thanking the USAID organizations for their support to the ICT sector in Lebanon, referring to the friendship existing between these organizations and PCA members.

Mr. Fawaz said: “We started our cooperation by gathering common objectives, and today it has evaluate to become a friendship based on common interest in positioning Lebanon in a higher level in the region. And I think that H.E. Mr. Battle, with his big affection to Lebanon, acted like a real brother and helped in turning this relation to a real friendship between people having in mind the same interest of pushing Lebanon to the highest position he deserves.”

Fawaz thanked H.E. Mr. Battle for his support as well as all those who had remarkable contributions to the sector.

Second spoke H.E. Ambassador Battle praising the present and future success of PCA members and referring to the fact that all of them are working hard to position Lebanon internationally, especially when it comes to the ICT sector.

Mr. Battle said: “You have all worked in order to promote and develop the sector and what could happen if you became a strong competitive team? You are specialized and this is something possible, especially that we have noticed this through our relations and work with PCA.”
Battle also spoke about the latest ICT capabilities survey, describing it as being a proof for the successful future steps.
Mr. Battle wished all the success for the ICT sector just as for Lebanon who succeeded in gaining high positions in other sectors like the fashion design sector, the jewelry sector, etc…
