 Focal Point
Sound and Fury, Signifying Everything
by PCA
Surveys, meetings, delegations, membership, challenges, opportunities, partnerships and programs. In a word: action. As this newsletter will describe, the PCA is on the move. And the pace is only getting faster.
But action itself is not enough. Individual initiatives
are given shape by an overall vision. In what direction
do all these events take us? What is the big picture,
the sum total of all of our individual initiatives?
How do individual events accomplish our overall objectives
for Lebanon’s ICT industry? What is our vision
for Lebanon’s ICT industry in the near and the
long term?
Shakespeare’s Macbeth, ruminating on a world of
events without coherence—of isolated incidents
without an overall structure—laments that life
is ‘sound and fury signifying nothing.’
This newsletter allows us to take a step back, review
our successes, discuss our vision, and agree on what
still remains to be done. It allows us to tell you how
our program is ‘sound and fury, signifying everything.’
After reading this newsletter, we hope that you will
agree, and join us for the ride.

ICT Watchdog
The PCA has played a leading role in recent months concerning the emergence of an ICT Watchdog. We believe that such a body, with a clearly defined role and responsibility, receiving full support and cooperation from industry, can play a catalyzing role in the development of ICT in Lebanon . In this edition, we present numerous voices on the issue:
- Report on e-Legislations by Dr. Tony Issa, President of ADIL
- Report on the Investment Development Law 360
- Report by the PCA Intellectual Property Rights Committee
- Overview of The Telecommunication Law
- Point of View on the Lebanese Telecom Law
